Xpelair DX150PS 150mm 6" Square Extractor Fan with Pullcord

The DX150PS forms part of Xpelair’s Simply Silent DX range, a series developed to combine strong extraction performance with quieter operation and modern styling. The fan features a contemporary square fascia and is engineered to control humidity, condensation, odours, and stale air effectively while maintaining lower noise levels than many conventional axial extractor fans.

The fan uses a 150mm axial impeller system, allowing significantly higher airflow than standard 100mm bathroom fans. It delivers extraction performance of approximately 214–241 m³/h (around 63–72 litres per second) depending on the installer-selected speed setting, making it suitable for larger spaces where higher extraction rates are needed.

The “PS” suffix indicates pull-cord operation, meaning the fan is manually controlled via an integrated pull switch built directly into the unit. This allows independent operation without needing to connect the fan to a lighting circuit or wall switch, making it useful where users want direct manual control over ventilation.

A key feature of the DX150PS is its two-speed motor system, with airflow settings selectable during installation. Installers can choose between lower-noise operation or maximum extraction performance depending on room size and ventilation requirements. Xpelair’s Ghost Air Movement Technology is also incorporated to help reduce turbulence and vibration, improving acoustic comfort during operation.
