Timeguard MLB3001 3kW Scanning PIR & Photocell in Black

The MLB3001 is a heavy-duty standalone PIR (Passive Infrared) and photocell lighting controller from Timeguard, designed for automatic switching of exterior lighting and heat loads such as security lights, floodlights, and patio heaters. It is widely used in domestic, commercial, and industrial installations where reliable motion detection and dusk-to-dawn control are required.

This unit combines a wide-angle PIR sensor (up to 220° detection) with a photocell light sensor, allowing it to operate in multiple modes including motion-activated PIR switching, dusk-to-dawn operation, or a “learn” mode that memorises ambient light levels for more precise control.

It provides a detection range of up to 12 metres (at approximately 2.5m mounting height), making it suitable for covering driveways, building entrances, car parks, and perimeter lighting systems. The sensor head is adjustable with pan and tilt control (typically 45° pan and 30° tilt), allowing installers to fine-tune coverage and avoid unwanted triggering from roads or neighbouring properties.
