Elkay Electronic Time Delay Switch - Touchtimer
The Elkay 760-A2 is a 3-wire electronic time delay switch designed to provide automated, energy-efficient control of lighting and general electrical loads. It replaces a standard wall switch and allows users to activate a circuit for a preset period of time, after which the switch automatically turns the load off. This makes it ideal for areas where lights or equipment should not be left on continuously, such as corridors, stairwells, toilets, utility rooms, plant rooms, and commercial or public spaces.
The unit operates using a capacitive touch sensor housed behind a modern brushed stainless steel flush plate. A light touch activates the timing cycle, offering a more modern and durable alternative to mechanical push-button timers. Once activated, the switch provides a selectable time delay ranging from approximately 2 minutes up to 2 hours, depending on configuration. During operation, a blue illuminated locator ring provides clear visual feedback, making the switch easy to locate in dark environments and indicating active status.
Internally, the 760-A2 uses electronic timing control suitable for a wide range of electrical loads. It is rated up to 16A, allowing it to switch lighting circuits as well as general-purpose loads including LED, incandescent, fluorescent lighting, and some low-power appliances. Its “re-trigger” function allows users to extend the timer by pressing the switch again during operation, while cancellation and last-minute warning features improve usability and prevent sudden shut-offs.
